Paper processing history in the Lanškroun region dates back to 1884. The initial manufacturing of simple textile tubes expanded rapidly, evolving into a modern paper machining production over time.

Presently ORPA Papír a.s. comprises two production plants. The principal plant and headquarters are seated in Lanškroun and the branch plant is located in Hostačov by Golčův Jeníkov.

 

Production is divided into five main areas:

  • spirally wound paper tubes and cores
  • parallel wound paper tubes and paper bobbins  
  • paper sleeves for winding glass fibres
  • paper tubes for chemical fibres
  • packaging - combi cans, paper drawtubes, containers for dangerous waste  

Among main customers of Orpa Papír a.s. belong producers and processors of fibres ( glass, textile and synthetic), foil producers, companies from paper, textile, metallurgic and building industry. Substantive part of production is intended for food industry.    

Approximately one third of the total company´s production leads to foreign markets, namely European ones. The main foreign customers are companies in Germany, Poland, Austria and Baltic countries. Orpa Papír also delivers products outside EU, namely to Russia, Bellorusia and Ukraine. The most exported products are paper cores, paper sleeves for glass fibres, tubes for chemical fibres and combi cans.     

Company products were several times highly honoured by "The EMBAX PRINT gold medal", last time in 2001 for high accuracy paper tubes for pyrotechnics.

Furthermore, the company was awarded "The Best Packing of the Year 2001" prize for its set of round gift packings as well as "The Best Packing of the year 2005" prize for the consumer packaging for glasses.

The company has a Quality Management System certified as per EN ISO 9001:2000, and a Environmental Management System certified as per EN ISO 14001:2004
